Gospel music outfit set for live recording concert

MUSICAL outfit, “All for Christ” is set to stage their live recording for The Revival Season 2: The Grand Return at 7 Arts Theatre on tomorrow.

The concert is a sequence of the group’s yesteryear concert dubbed “The Revival Season 1: The Genesis”

The 40-member outfit was founded by Willard Muzaeni and Blessing Chikwenjere in 2011, to introduce contemporary sound into traditional United Methodist Church songs.

All for Christ has some of its members in the diaspora who started during the Covid19 pandemic era.

In an interview with The Herald Arts, Muzaeni said the group emerged from the church while doing intra-church competitions before engaging in live recording of gospel music.

“We started as a church group emanating from the United Methodist Church, competing only in intra-church competitions,” he said.

“So we have half of our members who are not in Zimbabwe and in 2019 we did online rehearsals and recordings.”

“For our members in the diaspora, we always host camp meetings twice a year and these are only done for recording purposes.”

The group’s first live recording themed The Revival: Genesis featured Takesure “Zamar” Ncube on a song titled “Munondirwira”.

Muzaeni highlighting their hallmark achievements said they have scooped accolades at the Star FM Listeners Choice Awards in 2021.

“We were voted best in the Star FM Listeners Choice Awards twice as Best Gospel Song of the year, and best group of the year with our song “Mwari Wakanaka”

Some of the groups performing that evening will be “Boys of Thunder”, “Boundless Harmony” (Salvation Army) and Psalms of Praise.”

In its informative years, All for Christ benefited from the expertise and guidance of Christopher Musiyarira.

This shared vision led to the creation of “All for Christ,” a name that resonates deeply in our native Shona language, translating to “zvese/vese/tese kuna Kristu,” or “everything to Christ.

The group’s vision is to glorify God through the creation and performance of music that inspires people of all backgrounds to embrace Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Growing in their faith, and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Zimbabwe.

They also aim to be a leading force in the global Christian music scene, recognized for our innovative fusion of contemporary sounds with traditional Zimbabwean music.
