DUE to the time frame and higher demand, ‘Dragon Force FC Porto’, sporting academy has relocated to new grounds at Higher Achievers School in Borrowdale.
The agency Dragon Force FC Porto is a certified agency subscribed at the FC Porto in Portugal which is a bonus for locals who have been verifying and querying about the agency.
Speaking to the Youth Interactive section, academy hosts said they have relocated to the new grounds because they want to have more time for training.
“We have relocated and it is a good move because we will not have limited time for training,” they said.
“We were at Alexander Sports Club and it was a good place with more aspiring footballers, trickling in but sometimes we couldn’t finish our training due to grounds restrictions.”
The academy has grown with now hundreds of teens and youths from different backgrounds registering, and coming for training.
Youth Interactive Section managed to talk to some of the footballers who praised the academy for the new grounds. “I joined last October and I am happy so far with the developments from the academy,” said Tinarwo Moyo (18) from Meyrick Park.
“I love soccer so much and this is my dream come true, can’t wait to go to Italy and France to meet my role models.
The new grounds are spacious and we have more time.”
Another aspiring soccer player Benard Banda (20) from Hillside said has found a new home at the academy.
“I used to be at some clubs which I can’t mention names but it was difficult for me to learn the ropes fast or interact as they lacked some professionalism.”
“It was like street football but when I joined the Dragon F.C Porto Academy, it’s like home and they treat us like their children. You will love soccer more with them. I don’t mind my dad taking me there every weekend because it is worth it. I am thinking of joining the big boys because my time is now,”said Banda.
However, with more locals joining the popular soccer academy Dragon Force FC Porto, the owners and founder members are happy with how the vision has extended to neighbouring countries such as
Mali, Zambia, Mozambique, South Africa, Ghana and Tanzania among others. The academy is nurturing talent from 3-20 years old who will then have an opportunity to participate on an international level — a chance to travel to Portugal among other countries.
They offer training, and transferable soccer skills with an ambition to give you an international market opportunity, thus after you register with them.
After the opening last year in January, of the football school in Fortaleza, Brazil, the implementation of the Dragon Force International Certification at FC Beira, in Mozambique, FC Porto opened the Dragon Force Academy in Harare, Zimbabwe, making it the third project to be implemented internationally in 2023 by Dragon Force Academy.
