DeMbare to ditch Kadonzvo?
DYNAMOS looks set to ditch former player Valentine Kadonzvo after he reportedly opted to extend his contract at Ngezi Platinum and then move to the Harare giants on loan.
A two-year contract was ready for Kadonzvo’s signature on the understanding his stay at Ngezi Platinum had ended.
But when it emerged that he intended to renew his deal with the Zimbabwe champions, Dynamos officials were infuriated and called off the proceedings.
Already Kadonzvo had previously clashed with Dynamos in 2019 after he terminated his contract claiming to be taking up a scholarship in the United States only to re-emerge at Chicken Inn in Bulawayo. Dynamos have so far missed Obriel Chirinda, and Khama Billiat among others who were their major targets this season and they have since resigned to dealing only with players who want to fully commit to the club.
A source told Zimpapers Sports: “The club is no longer interested in pursuing Kadonzvo after showing double standards. The leadership had decided to take a gamble on him as they considered him a prodigal son after he duped the club back in 2019.
“When the club tabled a contract he refused to sign saying that he can only do that on a loan deal as he is set to extend his stay at Ngezi for another year,” he said.
Dynamos are also losing interest in Kuda Mahachi as he is reported to have shown less interest after the club failed to secure Billiat, who joined Yadah.
“As for Mahachi, the club has given him a few days to show up or end any engagements. Initially, he was supposed to have flown to Harare with his family to sign the contract with all expenses on the club but on the day he asked the Dynamos officials if they had signed Billiat.
“Now the club is chasing to meet the player registration deadline day and it is now a matter of who shows up and who doesn’t.”
In another development, Dynamos received an official letter from CAPS United yesterday requesting the services of Tendai Matindife.
Matindife has been training with CAPS United in recent days but without the greenlight from Dynamos.
Hardliners at DeMbare would prefer a situation where the player is kept at the club up to the end of his contract even if he does not get game time.
“Matindife was initially in the club’s plans and he went AWOL for unknown reasons, which saw the club leadership requesting for him to go for rehabilitation instead of the obvious disciplinary hearing. “But instead, he resurfaced at CAPS United without seeking clearance and the club is now considering keeping him until his contract runs out at the club. His fate will be decided in the few coming days,” said the source.
