Avoid college demons through exposure
EVEN for the most prepared, attending college is an enormous adjustment. And occasionally it’s an impromptu journey.
Friedrich Nietzsche once stated that anyone who battles monsters must take care to avoid turning into one himself in the process. And if you stare into a chasm for too long, the chasm will stare back at you.
Additionally, college students must constantly battle several demons and monsters, which occasionally results in their defeat in the struggle against the academic path.
I have noticed that some students struggle, not because they are weak or uninteresting, but occasionally because they haven’t been exposed to a variety of situations.
Some of us have humble upbringings that have prevented us from seeing a wide range of situations.
As a result, once you get to college, your eyes are opened to a wide range of interesting experiences, and when such students are exposed to these kinds of things, they go crazy.
Being a college student is an amazing life. It’s challenging as well. It’s also harder than high school.
Looking back on my time in college, I can tell you that it’s always a difficult journey full of discomfort and change, but that, like everything in life, the process is also the most beautiful part.
However, we must not lose sight of the fact that college can be an inhumane environment for those who lack the resilience to fend against its attacks. For this reason, it seems illogical to disarm our hearts and brains.
Not every year is good, nor every day equals a nice day. What can you take away from such failures, and how can you persevere in the face of adversity?
By exposing their children to a variety of experiences, parents should strive to do everything in their power to enhance their children’s lives.
This week I am targeting a little bit at those students who have become victims of not being exposed to a variety of life experiences.
I was discussing with several students last week why certain of their peers become victims of their situations. Regretfully, I was informed that many of them are not exposed from the beginning and go wild when given the chance to explore.
Once more, what yours truly observes is written down.
Normally, I observe what goes on in college up close. Fellow students, you need exposure to avoid costly blunders.
Exposure plays a crucial role in a student’s educational journey and it provides students with the opportunity to broaden their horizons, gain new perspectives, and acquire valuable skills that are essential for success in today’s interconnected world.
Fellow students, exposure helps you to avoid making silly blunders by allowing you to experience different situations, cultures, and ideas, thus enhancing your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
The most profound realisation that we as students can make to successfully navigate this life is quite simple, we do not have all the answers and that’s okay.
It is necessary to realise that as this college life continues to test us, our composition, and our foundations, the source of our perseverance comes not from pretending to be able to coolly handle life, but rather from realizing that others are maybe able to guide us through our storms.
At times we can rush to blame the demons over our children’s misfortunes. Yes, the devil plays a negative role in the progress of every student and young people’s lives.
But at times, let’s not be too quick to blame the evil spirits for the failures of some students.
Let them get exposure at home and you will help them doing quite well.
At one point, I wrote something, that we are the authors of our misfortunes but I also figured that it’s not always the case.
Exposure plays a crucial role in the development and education of students.
It provides them with opportunities to gain new perspectives and acquire valuable skills that are essential for their personal and academic growth.
When students lack exposure to diverse experiences, ideas, and cultures, it can have significant negative effects on their academic, social, and personal development.
The following paragraphs will discuss the various ways in which limited exposure can impact students.
Students with limited exposure may struggle to develop critical thinking skills and the ability to analyse complex information.
They may also have a narrow understanding of various subjects, leading to difficulties in grasping new concepts and ideas. This can result in lower academic performance, reduced chances of attending higher education institutions, and limited career opportunities.
Lack of exposure can hinder students’ social development, making it difficult for them to interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Limited exposure hurts students’ personal growth and self-confidence. They may not have the opportunity to explore their interests, passions, and strengths, which can result in a lack of motivation and direction in life.
Students with limited exposure may not be aware of various career options, leading to a narrow range of choices and potential dissatisfaction with their chosen path.
When students don’t get exposed to life experiences, it can have significant implications on their personal, social, and academic development.
Exposure to a variety of life experiences is crucial for students as it helps them broaden their perspectives, develop empathy, enhance critical thinking skills, and prepare them for the challenges they may face in the future.
Providing opportunities for students to engage with a wide range of life experiences is essential for nurturing well-rounded individuals who are equipped to thrive in an increasingly diverse and complex world.
Until we meet for a toast!
