Ngarava off to Pakistan Super League

- Sports Reporter

TOP-RANKED Zimbabwe bowler, Richard Ngarava will become the third Chevron’s bowler in the ongoing Pakistan Super League season.

Ngarava comes in as an overseas replacement for injured Englishman, Olly Stone at current PSL leaders, Multan Sultans.

The 30-year-old Stone, who had been signed by Multan Sultans as a replacement for fellow countryman Reece Topley, pulled up with a groin injury while bowling against Islamabad United. Ngarava will be the third Zimbabwean cricketer to participate in PSL, joining Chevrons T20 captain Sikandar Raza, who represents Lahore Qalandars, and Blessing Muzarabani, who plays for Karachi Kings, are already a part of PSL.

Raza’s Lahore Qalandars are win-less in seven games after six defeats and no no-result while.

Muzarabani’s Karachi Kings are second from bottom with two wins from seven matches and in his most recent match on Saturday, he was the pick of the bowlers as the Karachi Kings lost by 20 runs against the Multan Sultans after taking two of the three wickets to fall for 32 runs in four overs.

Multan Sultans made 189/3 off their 20 overs while the Karachi Kings could only manage 169/7 in reply.

Ngarava is joining the Pakistan Super League after an impressive show at the just-ended Bangladesh Premier League where he represented Sylhet Strikers and took 10 wickets in just six innings, including best figures of 4/30 in four overs.

Before his stint in PSL, Ngarava has already participated in the International League T20 (ILT20) and Lankan Premier League (LPL).
