ZANU PF will establish an office for affiliate organisations at the party headquarters to make sure they are economically empowered, the party’s National Political Commissar, Cde Mike Bimha, has said.

Cde Bimha told almost 300 affiliate groups at a meeting in Harare yesterday that under the leadership of President Mnangagwa, no one and no place would be left behind in building the economy.

“We have directed Zanu PF affiliate organisations to come up with their action plan for 2024 going forward.

“Yes, elections are over so we would also want to see how the party can assist them in terms of their objectives such as empowerment.

“As they get empowered they also contribute to the economic development of the country.”

Zanu PF affiliate organisations, Cde Bimha said, should continue to guard against infiltration.

“We are saying as you get empowered, and as you participate in growing the economy, you must not forget that the enemy is still around”.

He said there will be an office at the party headquarters for affiliate organisations which will be co-ordinated by Dr Davison Gomo under the Commissariat Department.

“We have several affiliates who were accredited to the party. At that time, we held a lot of meetings with affiliates representing different groups. We appealed to them that our focus was on mobilisation and campaigning for the party and President Mnangagwa in last year’s harmonised elections.

“So we had quite a lot of support from affiliates and now that the elections are behind us, they have come and are saying; look can we meet and hold discussions with the party leadership to map the way forward,” said Cde Bimha.

Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, Miners for ED vice chairman Mr Drue Kucherera said they were going to embark on land rehabilitation in mining areas.

“We are establishing market gardening within the mining communities. So far we have started in Mapanzure, Zvishavane. We are engaging all those who want to venture into mining to come on board and support the noble cause,” said Mr Kucherera.

Concord Young Women in Business brand ambassador Miss Lynn Ncube said they are happy with the opportunities availed by the party to empower affiliate organisations.

“We are ready to empower young women who are within the range of 18-45 years of age to venture into businesses.

We are doing ICT training and agricultural programmes to make sure women are empowered,” she said.

Young Women for Economic Development representative Ms Rufaro Matsika commended the party leadership for embracing all affiliate organisations.

“We are happy to get the necessary support from the party to empower everyone. We have several programmes lined-up for women, some of the programmes are goat rearing, and market gardening among others,” she said.

The party affiliate groups that attended yesterday’s programme included Miners for ED, Teachers for ED, Young Women for ED, ConCode Young Women in Business, Men BelievED, Vapositori for ED, Diaspora for ED, Soccer Legends for ED, Lawyers for ED, Varakashi for ED, Single Mothers for ED, Protocol for ED, and Cross Border Traders for ED.
