Response to “No vacation school this April holiday”

The Government’s rejection of requests from schools to allow both non-examination and examination classes to attend vacation school during the April holiday is justified. Private and public schools are going all out to milk parents of their hard-earned cash. —@Angry parent

Our children deserve a break to rest and engage in independent learning or even playing. Holidays help them to recharge. — @Mai Muna

The Government must reconsider this move. Children of today can turn to alcohol and drugs if they remain idle at home. Banning holiday lessons will expose our kids to drugs use. — @Fisherman

Thank you Government for saving us from greedy teachers and their schools. Holiday lessons money goes straight to the pockets of teachers. —@Sabudu

I beg to differ with Government’s position. A break from the academic routine will not be beneficial to pupils’ physical and mental health. Kids of today always turn to sex, alcohol and drugs if they are not pressed with schoolwork. — @ NoParent

Response to “Govt turns up heat on road construction firms”

These companies need tighter enforcement to deliver. How can road construction go on and on for years? They must deliver. Government is right to turn on the heat on them. — @Francis Chirasha

The Government set strict time limits on these companies ahead of the SADC Summit and other key national events in 2024. Failure to deliver on time will embarrass our country in the eyes of the visitors. — @Samusha

***

Piling pressure on these companies will force them to deliver on time and save taxpayers’ money. Delays are quite costly to the taxpayer. This must not be allowed to happen. Efficiency and transparency quite critical to speed up road construction. —DD Amkelawethu

The Government is right and has to take a tough stand against these companies that demand lots of monies and deliver little. They must shape up or ship out. No funnies. They must be serious in their works. — Sam Gejegeje
