The decapitations of the heads of our First Chimurenga heroes and heroines as trophies by looters is far from respecting humans who were created in the image of God. — EL Mukwereza, Chitungwiza.

People let us respect life. Cases of people killing each other due to trivial issues are on the increase. No human being has power to end someone’s life no matter the reason. Life is precious. — Tawanda Mhlanga.

With professional security companies abound, institutions must hire their services for perfect security systems. This misplaced idea of trying to save money comes with its own risks. — Crispen Tendai Masenhu.

I was in Manica, Mozambique recently and I was happy to see truck drivers reading The Manica Post. The paper has become so popular that it transcends international boundaries. Keep the great work up. — 0777696915.

Prisoner rehabilitation and education is a major important factor in the fighting and curbing crime. When these offenders are reintegrated into the society there won’t be a repetition of the same mistakes. Government and all stakeholders need to emphatically find alternatives to stop criminals from re-offending. Yes, times are hard and conditions unbearable, but there are always solutions to this plight. Their minds need to be occupied with income generating projects. Crimes do occur as a result of laziness and unemployment. Skills are relevant in these self help projects, thus drives one to greater heights. Sometimes lengthy jail terms groom offenders to be dangerous criminals too. Our judiciary needs to look into this matter too. Our society must create a crime free environment. — Zondi, NHB, Sakubva.

******* Statutory Instrument 64 should also ban the importation of blankets, jerseys, shoes, hats and building materials among other goods which can be manufactured locally so as to keep cash in the country. The ban should not be enforced on foodstuffs only, but all things and goods which can be found locally. — Tondi.

In terms of the cash crisis, our biggest enemies are the Chinese who do not bank their daily collections. They should bank cash. Other businesspeople should be encouraged to bank cash especially retailers, wholesalers and foreigners. — Zhing Zhong Zhang.

On behalf of readers, I would like to implore The Manica Post staff to publish the Unsung Hero column every week. As youths, we want to hear from the people who liberated Zimbabwe from an oppressive regime. — Terrence Mwedzi.

The modus operandi of offloading goods from slow moving trucks is not new. Here in Mutare, Christmas Pass is often the prime target, so is Mufusire ascend in Headlands. Theft will be discovered upon reaching the destination. The thieves violate the tarpaulin to extricate wares. — CTM.

The word ‘mercenaries’ loses value and meaning when it is used to vent emotions on players who ask for dues before undertaking a task. We are all familiar with the current street lingo ‘sink’ or ‘drown’. As such one has to avoid the ‘past’ effect. Even Phillip Chiyangwa does not want to ‘sink’. He bought bananas for his hungry farm workers. Who wants to ‘sink’? — Observer.

It is so sad to learn that more young girls are getting married while still young. Some are dropping out of school, making their lives bleak in the process. We as a society should make sure that we support girls to address the issue of child marriages. If a girl marries young due to poverty, her children are likely to be poor too. Child prostitution is being fuelled by school drop-outs. Let us keep our girls in school and that will make them better mothers. — Mhlanga, Dangamvura.

In this day and age, soccer has nothing to do with religious beliefs. Success of any team is based on working hard. We want something useful and meaningful in football circles. — TM.

******* Accidents, brawls and marriage break-ups are result of drug and alcohol abuse and not beer drinking. I hope this clears the air. — 0782349346.

The sight of broken down haulage vehicles on CBD roads is an eyesore. Recently, a Kukura Kurerwa old Volvo B7 model bus broke down as it was turning right at former Shingadia’s Furniture Shop blocking traffic from four lanes and the mechanics had the cheek to repair it on the spot. — Masenhu.

NSSA is busy helping farmers with medicines and check-ups, but is doing nothing to those who contribute to this organisation on a monthly basis. I am not complaining, but do not understand the logic behind helping non-contributing people while those who contribute suffer or die for them to get help when they retire. NSSA bosses, please help the contributors as well. — Masimba Muzukuru.

Cde Chinamasa and Dr Mangudya kindly deal once and for all with micro-finance companies. Most workers are going home empty-handed at month-ends due to these companies’ unorthodox and merciless deductions. Kindly give this micro-finance business to all banks. — Moses Moyana.
