MAY I express my heartfelt thanks to the PSL Disciplinary Committee for coming up with a judgement for the abandoned match between Highlanders and Dynamos. The whole soccer fraternity will agree with me that hooliganism and tribalism have no place in football circles. In the same vein, I also want to urge soccer loving fans to desist from acts of barbarism because it is not good for sport and football in general. As Dynamos supporters, we are feeling happy because we were awarded three points from the abandoned match. It is our victory. It was a clear goal not an offside. We must go to watch soccer not to cause violence. It is quite sad that Highlanders were fined $4 000 for causing chaos and that can be prevented. If they continue the acts of violence, they will lose more money and more points for nothing. Plus, we need not to be found condoning violence because the image of Zimbabwean football is being tarnished. If we do so, Zimbabwe will be on the top in terms of soccer. Fans should be disciplined and tribalism is a thing of the past. We are all Zimbabweans. It is my sincere hope that from now onwards they will start behaving like human beings and not animals. No to tribalism. — Terrence Mwedzi, Mutare.

The stories of snakes falling from people’s clothes and ritual murders are increasing. With these trying economic times, people are doing anything to survive. People do not seem to think about the aftermath of murder. Avenging spirits will torment the entire generation, children will experience difficulties in life as well as marriage. Very big problems will be awaiting whoever commit murder. Life is a gift from God, hence no-one has a right to take it away. — Zondi, NHB, Sakubva.

The provincial tours by President Mugabe where he is meeting youths show that he has a passion for them. Truly, His Excellency is doing an excellent job. Keep up the good work. — Martin Kayerasora, Headlands.

On behalf of the readers, I would like to implore The Manica Post staff to publish the Unsung Hero/ Heroine column every week. As youths, we want to hear from those who decided to liberate Zimbabwe from the oppressive regime. I hope my request will be granted. — 0782349 346.

In this day and age, soccer has nothing to do with religious beliefs. Success of any team is based on working hard. We want something useful and meaning in football circles. — Observer.

Through your popular weekly paper, I want to ask Minister Dokora why children are being sent back home to collect school fees. The last time he told the media that no child should miss lessons due to lack of fees. My daughter was returned home while I had made a payment plan with the school. The headmaster of the school does not want to listen to parents’ concerns. — Tawanda Mhlanga, Dangamvura.

Do some people know our population size? Do they know the land area of Zimbabwe? Though great and beautiful, we are a small country, even smaller than Zambia. We have rapid population increase on a finite resource, LAND, the mother of all life. But some people think this country is like self-raising flour expanding to push its neighbours further into the sea. It is here where we should be applying Economics and Science, both as catalysts for human development so as not to feel the brunt of limited space on the land against the opportunity costs with many competing interests as our needs and wants. It means moving with speed to be an industrialised nation than anchoring our economy on agriculture. We have put pressure on the land by investing much on agriculture to forget about other economic sectors. Meanwhile, our farmers should learn to meet their costs like everyone else in business. — Mahuhushe.

Men please let us lead by example. Why is that when we answer the call of nature we answer it anywhere? Who said behind our back is a toilet. I have seen men parking their nice cars only to urinate. Are we now dogs who have no shame to urinate everywhere. At drinking holes it is even worse. Let us make use of the little houses to answer nature’s call. — 0777696915.

I like the story in your last issue headlined Mandiwanzira’s undying love of Nyanga. While I appreciate the Minister’s efforts, one wonders how the minister is able to provide much machinery when all the responsible authorities are failing to do so. Are we not worshipping people who are milking our economy? — Concerned from Chipinge.

Where everything else failed for the bus to crush as anticipated, we should not think that their bags of tricks to cause anarchy in the country are empty. Worrying at the moment is the heightening reports of soccer no longer based on soccer, but region. This is being dangerously played by some sports reporters. This incites violence in stadia. It is wrong to think that a particular football club belongs to a tribe when our football clubs are multi-cultural and multi-racial institutions. Never again should the spine of our nation be fractured. Noise and civil strife are for those who make capital from violence. We don’t want violence of any form from anyone. Zimbabwe remains a united State where we celebrate our diversity in unison. Humanity is binding as cross line of common understanding that as a people, we live in peace and harmony. Any divisions make us dangerous to ourselves. — Richard Chauke.

Even in the toughest and most competitive soccer leagues, strikers score goals as if there are no defenders to stop them. They are rich, but still hungry to play well and score goals. Where are the real strikers in the PSL? There should be no Golden Boot Award if the top goal scorer fail to reach 20 goals and above each season. Stop rewarding the best of the worst. — 0777361034.
