CHIPINGE Rural District Council is engaging various stakeholders on how the district can embraces Government’s 100-day plan of Ease Doing of Business concept.

The programme is aimed at attracting investments and also removes unnecessary bureaucracy and obstacles which used to deter potential investors by complicating processes.

Speaking during a consultative meeting in Chipinge with district heads of departments on Wednesday, Chipinge Rural District Council chief executive officer, Mr Blessing Mamvosha, said the Ease Doing of Business concept was aimed at cutting unnecessary bureaucracy and deliver services efficiently.

“We ought to look at how we work and discharge our duties for the bene- fit of the general public and also create good working conditions for potential investors who might be turned off because of red tape.

“The council will also engage all stakeholders in district to find ways of attracting more investors,” he said.

Mr Mamvosha said the Ease Doing of Business concept would help combat graft.

“The concept will help in fighting corruption because red tape fuels corruption.

“When people are operating in an environment with heavy regulations they tend not to formalise their business, thereby cutting corners to attain their goals.

“Home seekers and small business will also benefit as local authorities will be able to deliver services in a short space of time,” he said.
