NO CONTEST AT UMTALI

THERE will be no contest for the seats in the Umtali Municipal Council made vacant by the retirement, at the end of their three years of office, of Messrs. A. Bain (North Ward), C. L. Brown (Central Ward) and J. Armstrong (South Ward).

The three retiring councillors were the only candidates nominated, and the mayor as returning offer has declared them to be elected for a further term of three years.

The municipal auditors, Messrs. P. F. Harvey and E. P. Vernall have also been returned unopposed.
