HUNDREDS of exhibitors from across the country are expected to throng Chipinge for the district agriculture show set for August 17 to 19. Organisers said preparations were at an advanced stage as the annual event is growing from strength to strength with each passing year.

Chipinge District Administrator, Mr William Mashava, will officially open the show.

Chipinge Agriculture and Show Society vice- chairperson, Mr James Gabaza, called on exhibitors from across the country to participate at the show, saying they stand to reap big rewards out of it.

He said they had adopted an inclusive approach where everyone was invited to showcase their products.

“This year, we have extended our invitations to all stakeholders to showcase their products.

“For years, this event was an agricultural show, but now we have invited companies, Government departments, parastatals and farmers to participate.

‘’ We are urging the Chipinge community to support this three- day event as there will be a lot of entertainment from local artistes,” he added.

Mr Gabaza said Chipinge Agriculture and Show Society which was now affiliated to National Association of Show Society, was expected to attract hundreds of exhibitors from all 15 show societies countrywide.

“We are very happy that we are now a member of the National Show Society and because of that we are expecting delegates from other societies to participate at our event,” he said.

Mr Gabaza said the best exhibitors would walk away with exciting prizes.

“All excelling exhibitors will receive prizes ranging from certificates, cash and farming equipment. They will also have a chance to compete in the provincial event in September,’’ he added.

Meanwhile, the new Chipinge Show Society ground has received a major facelift from local companies.
