GOVERNMENT should be commended for introducing better breeds of livestock from other countries. This noble move will see the Command Livestock Programme moving mountains and give us high quality meat across the country. Zimbabwe should be the best meat producer in Africa. Those behind this initiative must be applauded for coming up with this brilliant idea. - Terrence Mwedzi.

What is happening in our schools? Last time, it was Rukweza High, Nyanyadzi and now St Mathias Tsonzo, with students doing unusual things claiming Satanism, cultism and spiritualism. Responsible authorities should act and if it is true that some teachers and auxiliary staff members at some of the schools are involved in the latter, the law should take its course. We should also be careful with those who supply boarding schools with consumables as some are into cultism. Let us fight these vices from our schools. Parents should monitor the type of books our children and films they watch. There are internet sites that recruits people into cultism.- Tawanda Mhlanga.

Following logic, news from Montrose Studios in Bulawayo should cover that area, but when it comes from elsewhere, it exposes a desert of news. More reporters are needed. Otherwise, it is a mere formality to broadcast from that side on dry and not wet days. - Tendai Masenhu.

I hate supermarket customers who load trolleys only for their swipe cards to read: ‘ insufficient funds’. - CTM.

When people test HIV positive they hide behind cancer. We want openness. - Observer.

Soccer is an inclusive sport, why don’t we have albinos in the PSL? In what way does skin pigmentation restrict albinos to be active in sports?- Richard Chauke.

I was delighted to see police officers manning the Christmas Pass Check Point with name tags and force numbers. I believe this will make it easy to identify corrupt and overzealous officers. Thank you Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba for living up to your promise. We now call upon the motoring public to desist from tempting our police officers with bribes. Let us all be involved in the fight against corruption.- 0777696915.

What is fast in fast foods when we are being sold stale food to upset our stomachs. - 0777361034.

Council plumbers, please after repairing burst pipes fill the holes which you would have dug. At times they leave holes in the middle of the road with no signs to warn traffic. In Sakubva along Chineta Road, a hole has not been filled. - Observer.

Through your widely read newspapers, I would like to thank nurses and support staff at Sakubva District Hospital for their love, care and professionalism. My sister gave birth on July 27 and I was impressed by the team’s conduct. May God bless them. - Mhlanga, Dangamvura.

People are made to believe that foreign religions are inches above African traditional religions. This was the fore-running onslaught to the indigenes before colonisation. It was imperially designed for Africa to lose its supreme religion, languages and land. Fortunately, we survived as a people, blessed by the same creator of all people. We are proud, God created us as complete. We cannot play second fiddle to some people because they colonised us. Those who colonised Africa must repent to apologise and compensate us for slavery. What is called the First World has mechanism in place to make us feel inferior. God was never discovered to us by foreigners who clamp African economies just to keep us poor. - Mahuhushe.

Council workers who worked during the Lawrence Mudehwe era should get their money because most of them won their cases in the courts. It is very sad to see that most of them are getting old, while others are dying as paupers, yet management at the council was busy looting. I feel sorry for the workers and I urge them to approach the Messenger of Court so that they can attach the council property and auction it like what happened to MDC-T’s property in order for them to get their money while they are still alive. - Watchman.

Sex is a negotiable deal. Both partners should be willing. Should one be reluctant resulting in the other using force, then the deal takes a new dimension-rape. Real men do not rape. They sweet-talk negotiations. Should be the response not forthcoming, they resign and look elsewhere. Persistence and insistence result in rage and rape. The price which is paid is loss or forfeiture of liberty. It is not worth it. - Crispen Masenhu.
