UPCOMING Chikanga-based Zim dancehall artiste Charles Robert Saurombe, fondly known in the music circles as Inky V, has released a six-track album titled “Kutambura” which tackles love and social issues.

The artiste revealed that tracks on th album include, “Ndichiri Mudiki”, “Matisiya”, “Kutambura”, “Matune”, “Ehuhwe” and “Ndiye Wandinoda”, a song which carries sweet and powerful love messages to his childhood sweetheart.

Three of the six songs - “Kutambura”, “Matisiya” and “Ndichiri Mudiki” - have received rave reviews on local radio station, Diamond Fm, and have proved popular among his ghetto fans.

“Kutambura” chronicles youths’ day-to-day experiences in sprawling high-density suburbs including the difficulties they face in their bid to eke a living.

“Ghetto youths face a lot of challenges in their efforts to earn a living. Sometimes we put our experiences in song.

‘‘ Sometimes it’s sad that the rich continue to acquire more wealth yet us ghetto youths wallow in poverty. I also encourage listeners, particularly youths, against alcohol abuse among other social ills they get exposed to,” he said.

The album was produced by Edson “Gweja” Mangwanya.

Inky did not hide his love for self-proclaimed Zim dancehall king, Winky D.

“He is my role model. His voice and lyrics inspire me. I would like to urge fellow artistes to keep inspiring people through constructive lyrics,” he added.
