AFM Prayer Cave Assembly hosts 10 000

APOSTOLIC Faith Mission’s The Prayer Cave will next week host more than 10 000 congregants in what is expected to be the biggest crusade for the church.

The crusade will be held at Mushamukadzi section of Mutare’s Hobhouse high-density suburb from September 11 to 17.

The crusade, which will be held under the theme “Sarudzai Jesu” literally meaning choose Jesus, will draw congregants from various church denominations to worship Jesus Christ under one big tent.

The mega event will also dedicate one of the days as a donors’ day for the church where the underprivileged and the elderly drawn from different denominations will be honoured.

In an interview, the crusade convener and chairperson of the assembly, Evangelist Albert Muleya, said preparations for the event were at an advanced stage.

“We have put in place robust strategies to mobilise people to come in their numbers to the crusade.

‘‘ The befitting occasion will be graced by AFM general secretary, Reverend Amon Madawo, crusades director Reverend Arthur Nhamburo and top South African preacher Pastor Ezekiel Matope, who will be the guest speaker.

“We have lined up various artistes among them Chitungwiza-based New Life Assembly Choir, Sarudzai Jesu Choir from the Prayer Cave and Mutare’s leading gospel artiste, Blessing Shumba who will be ministering through music,” he said.

Evangelist Muleya said AFM would be donating various groceries and clothes to underprivileged and elderly members of the community in Mutare.

He said they had identified more than 120 beneficiaries in the area.

“We have the zeal to anoint our society through healing and deliverance. We also want to transform people’s lives. The church has identified more than 100 beneficiaries who are vulnerable and need the church’s assistance.

‘‘ It is our commitment to convert people to Christ for the development of mankind,” Evangelist Muleya said.

He said crusades were conduits of hope as they bring people from various backgrounds to network with God.

“Crusades are critical conduits of hope and prosperity as evidenced by the prevailing peace in the country.

‘‘This means that the church is playing a critical role in moulding a society under the attack of the devil. As God’s messengers we are His foot soldiers who are determined to conquer on His behalf,” he said

AFM is one of the largest Pentecostal denominations and in Zimbabwe.

It has a following of more than two million people from various parts of the country.

The church believes in the Holy Spirit and it treats Sunday as a special day of worship.
