Young businesswoman transforms Nyanga

- Senior Reporter

THE principle ‘looking back with gratitude’ is being fulfilled in Nyanga by a young businesswoman, Miss Talent Kadzima, who is working tirelessly with parents at various schools to improve access to quality of education in the district.

Miss Kadzima, who is the founder of Eduwise Education Consultancy, has been spearheading construction of state-of-the-art blocks at Mapako and Nyajezi high schools in Nyanga to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for her kinsmen.

Miss Kadzima is also constructing an Information Communication Technology Centre in support of the STEM programme to ensure that the students familiarise with technology despite their rural setting.

She has donated 100 bags of cement to Nyajezi High School to kick-start the construction of an A level classroom block.

Other projects she spearheaded in Nyanga include construction of a waiting shelter for expecting mothers at Nyatate, ECD blocks at St Noah 2 and Saunyama primary schools, a teachers’ house at Nyarumvurwe High School and paying school fees for about 100 vulnerable pupils across Nyanga.

Miss Kadzima, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of The Chartered Institute of Professional Financial Managers (CIPFM), a professional development institution, is assisting students in Nyanga with free career guidance on the importance of tertiary education, careers that suit different individuals and how one can start preparing for their chosen careers now.

Speaking at a speech and prize giving day at Mapako High School, at which Miss Kadzima donated all the prizes, school head, Mr Mapara expressed gratitude at her philanthropy.

“If the school was to build this block alone, it would have taken at least three years to complete it. The three years have been reduced to six months due to our daughter’s timely intervention to help her brothers, sisters and community. My job has been made very easy,” said Mr Mapara.

Miss Kadzima urged students to burn the midnight oil studying with a view to transform their families and the community at large.

“We are all gathered here happy and excited. Our parents fought a great war on our behalf so that we enjoy freedom of education, we should not disappoint them, let us work hard to transform our nation,” she said.
