- Entertainment Correspondent

ZIMDANCEHALL musician, Tawanda Mumanyi, affectionately known as Seh Calaz, will unleash a new album, ‘‘Sadaka’’ for the first time in Mutare when he performs at Club Mandisa tomorrow (Saturday).

Show promoter and club proprietor, Boniface Nyamanhindi, said the multi-award winning artiste would be backed by Harare-based dance ensemble, Malaika.

“We will be hosting Seh Calaz and he will be launching his 2017 album. I urge all music lovers to come in their numbers to witness this occasion. There will be more entertainment from other groups.

He will be coming with his full band, The Convicts. We are trying to give our fans the best entertainment in the city,” he added.

The Mbare-born star announced his grand entry in the music industry in 2013 with his song, “Mabhanditi”.

The song went viral in the ghettos though it did not receive any airplay on local radio stations.

When he released ‘‘Mumota Murikubvira’’, the song became popular on most radio stations.

To cap the year the youthful chanter was voted the Best Male Dancehall Artiste at the King of the Dancehall contest held in December 2013 and walked away with R10 000.

When Jamaican dancehall artiste, Turbulence came to Zimbabwe in 2013, the two made a remix of Seh Calaz’s hit song, ‘‘Mumota Murikubvira’’.

The ‘‘Usamurove’’ hit-maker has three albums up to date after releasing ‘‘Bhanditi’’ Rebirth in 2015, ‘‘Jamba Ngoma’’ in 2016 and now ‘‘Sadaka’’. Fans will wait to see whether the album will match ‘‘Jamba Ngoma’’ in terms of lyrics and diversity.
