Sniper, Romeo Gasa storm Mutare
ONE of Zim-dancehall’s pioneering artistes, Donald Chirisa, fondly known as Sniper Storm, will headline the Club Mandisa festivity calendar when he performs for the first time at the venue on Christmas Eve.
The show dubbed: “Tsvigiri Muhuchi Tour” will be just one of the mega gigs lined up at the venue this festive season.
Talented sungura artiste Romeo Gasa and Extra Valembe will perform at the venue tonight (Thursday).
Star FM wheel spinner DJ Bhaffly, supported by deejays Charly, Frost and Gizzla, will curtain down the year at the same venue next Saturday.
Sniper, a seasonal legend, is currently riding high with hit song, ‘‘Tsvigiri Muhuchi’’ which has taken the club scene by storm. Some of his danceable and sing-along songs are ‘‘Kwarira Mukati’’, ‘‘Love Yemusoja’’, ‘‘Hapana Hapana’’ and ‘‘Ndakabata Mic’’, among others.
“I feel so elated to come to Mutare for the first time this year. It will be a massive gig as we will be celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ in a merrymaking mood. We are ready for the show and we are inviting our fans to come and witness a grand performance from musoja,” said the chanter, who will perform at the venue with a live band.
Although Sniper’s gig will be the main gig this Xmas, Gasa’s Unity Day delight should not be overlooked.
The sungura exponent put up a well-choreographed act when he last performed at the venue two years ago.
Some of his popular songs are ‘‘Vakadzi Makaoma’’ featuring Simon Mutambi, ‘‘Nherera Nyarara’’, ‘‘Mukoma Kosie’’, ‘‘Ndaremerwa’’, ‘‘Kutanda Botso’’ and ‘‘Mandinyanyira’’ off the albums, ‘‘Simbi Hombe’’ and ‘‘Pin Code’’.
Organisers of the show said it was all systems go.
“This is part of our thanksgiving. We wish to appreciate our fans who were with us during the exciting entertainment year of 2017. The line-up is a mixed bag meant to please each and every patron. We are looking forward to end the year on a high note,” said the management team.
