- Post Correspondent

IT IS that time of the year where couples share special moments, renew vows in a month of love and White Horse Inn — situated in the majestic thickets of Vumba — 15km from Mutare, is the place to be this Valentine’s.

White Horse Inn management revealed that Valentine’s special which will run from for a week has special and irresistible offers, starting with a Valentine Dinner which will be held on Valentine’s Day.

Guests will be treated to unique cuisines such as smoked Trout pate or homemade mushroom soup or poached egg mornay , Roast Leg of lamb with mint sauce, Trout-Meuniere of poached in white wine, Grilled T Bone Steak with pepper sauce, Braised duckling a l’Orange, lemon mousse, pecan pie with cream or ice cream and a complimentary glass of wine.

Guests will part with a paltry $25 per person to have meals of their choice. The Valentine’s Menu runs from Wednesday the 14th through to Wednesday the 21st of February 2018.

Against a backdrop of the magnificent Vumba mountain range, at the bottom of a winding forested road is where the Inn lies. Available is a conference room which can house up to 50 delegates. It has 12 rooms and two-mini suites. The dining room combines style, and, during the day, visual access to the local scenery. Over the years, the Inn has established a reputation for the finest cuisine in the Eastern Highlands, with a menu that combines family favourites and unusual exotic dishes.

Two lounges are available to guests. These are complemented by a superb terrace, overlooking swimming pool and the gardens below – a magical world frozen in time.

The distinctly African trees that crowd the terraced gardens attract a huge variety of bird life as well as the Vumba’s rare Samango monkeys.

Walks in the garden are rewarding for guests interested in the wonders of nature, a stream that passes through the grounds providing the surroundings with a fresh country feel. Last Valentine’s Day dinner held at the hotel stood out as the best in terms of attendance and traffic.
