President Mnangagwa a forward thinker

EDITOR. — The President and Zanu-PF’s First Secretary, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa recently told his party’s top leadership to start preparing for elections which should be held in a few months.

This is a sign of forward-thinking which other political parties lack as they are caught in a festival of jostling for positions.

When opposition parties are walloped in the forthcoming polls, they will run to their financiers in the West with false sob stories of electoral irregularities when they know fully that their biggest undoing is lack of preparation.

It wouldn’t be easy to prepare for some of these parties because of the rampant disharmony, mudslinging and back-biting.

The worst is in MDC-T now that their president Morgan Tsvangirai passed on.

If Zanu-PF can continue singing the same tune, there is no way they will lose in the hands of an out-of-sorts opposition which resembles a royal rumble wrestling to grab positions.

Zanu-PF National Political Commissar, Lt Gen Engelbert Rugebe(Rtd) did a good thing by announcing that primary election will be held soon.

Some other parties and alliance will be selected people in an arbitrary manner which is a recipe for phenomenal disaster.

We wait and see, but the odds are strongly in favour of Zanu-PF this forthcoming election.
