Rusape man jailed 30 years for sodomy
A RUSAPE man who allegedly ambushed two siblings on their way from school and sodomised them before forcing them into oral intercourse has been jailed for 30 years for the heinous offences.
Tinoziya Mujere (37), of Yorkshire 7C, Headlands, who was not represented, was convicted on his own plea of guilty to the charges.
He was facing three counts of aggravated indecent assault commonly known as sodomy.
Mujere told Rusape regional magistrate Mr Livingstone Chipadza that he committed the offence because he was sex starved.
Mr Chipadza set aside five years on condition of good behaviour.
Rusape district prosecutor Mr Tirivanhu Mutyasira told the court Mujere ambushed the defenceless nine year old boy and his juvenile sister before abusing them in a drainage a few meters from the Harare-Mutare highway.
“On January 22, 2018 at around 1700hrs the accused person was at Yorkshire Secondary School turnoff when he saw the boy and his sister on their way from school. He then held their hands and dragged them to a drainage way, about 30 meters away from Harare-Mutare road on the pretext that he wanted to show them something that was coming out there.
“When they were in the drainage way, Mujere went on to sodomise the nine year old boy. Mujere also had oral intercourse with the five year old girl in the drain.
“On the same day the siblings reported the case to their mother who the following day reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of Mujere,” said Mr Mutyasira.
