Kudos to CABS Mutare

-

EDITOR. — We are coming out of difficult times as a nation. Among those difficulties last year, was the acute shortage of cash. Our banks did not have enough cash to service all their clients. For some employed in our banking institutions, this situation became a source of power. The client was treated as a slave, and those whose jobs are to serve were now the masters.

Whilst it is understood that the situation was way beyond the control of those we saw behind the counter in our banks, we believe that a true test of leadership comes when asked to steer a ship in a storm.

When an individual is given a task with limited resources, then their capabilities are exposed.

It is with this in mind, that we thought it right to commend the CABS bank manager.

In a period where most bank managers were too big to talk their “smaller” clients, he was often seen addressing winding queues. Whether it was good news, or the dreaded news that there was no cash that day, he took the courtesy to talk to his clients in person.

He was spotted once, before 6am giving out numbers to his clients, to ensure those who were early are served first, a job most leave to the security guards.

A job well done to CABS.

Even though the queues are still winding, and there are some bad days where we find no cash. It is always good to know that there are human beings out there who still care, and made sure we leave their bank with our dignity intact always. That is true servant leadership.
