IT MAKES no sense when schools and colleges take a lead in promoting textbook piracy. Most of these institutions have heavily invested in photocopy machines. A school with 100 students doing O-Level only buys one textbook and photocopy the rest. It’s a cost cutting measure, but at the expense of who? The authors and publishers of the book gain nothing. Piracy is destroying our book industry. Set books are also been pirated heavily leaving the authors with nothing to show for their effort, sweat and talent.
