Mutare women form Bakers Guild
WOMEN in Mutare have formed the first Bakers Guild that seeks to enhance quality of products and improve baking skills in bakers across the city.
Mutare Bakers Guild, founded early this year is a non-profit alliance of passionate and professional bakers, suppliers, students, home bakers and bakery owners and managers that seeks to produce world class quality cakes.
Speaking on the sidelines of the second guild meeting held at Lighthouse Christian centre last week, chairperson of Mutare Bakers Guild, Christine Rushwaya said that the guild was brought into existence by passionate bakers dotted across the city.
“Mutare Bakers Guild was officially formed by a group of passionate bakers on February 10 with bakers from around Mutare gathering to form an administrative committee.
“The guild comprises professional bakers, home bakers, students and anyone who loves cake baking and decorating,” she said.
The guild mainly comprises 60 female bakers and is open to entry by anyone with a passion for cakes and cake making.
