LOCAL musical group Sky Crew, famed for hit songs “Kana Ndaenda” and “Waizvifonera”, have embarked on an ambitious journey to recruit local budding artistes to their stable and assist them to nurture their talents.

Among other aims, the talented crew seeks to bring forward artistes of different genres and assist them to diversify their genres as well as build their brand.

Their songs “Kana Ndaenda” and “Waizvifonera” have received rave reviews on local radio station Diamond FM.

The group’s co-founder Kudzai Chiwocha, affectionately known as Wochman, said: “We intend to promote local artistes and create music labels that incorporate artistes of various genres. The development is aimed to mould young artistes who have abundant talent but who are struggling to breakthrough because of different circumstances.

“The situation will also develop Sky Crew as a brand. We realised that there are some local artistes who are so innovative and talented but are lacking financial and moral assistance,” he said.

Chiwocha added that it was important for local artistes to aim higher and develop their brands and eye regional and international recognition.

“The idea is to venture into a multi-dimensional way of participating in the arts industry as it gives us more chances of being nationally and internationally recognised than focusing on one genre.

“The group comprises artistes and artists who include authors, producers, models and dancers among others. We are currently promoting an upcoming motivational speaker, Stanford Madyara who is expected to publish his book titled: “The end of nothing and the beginning of everything,” he added.

Sky Crew mooted their musical career in 2015 and has since been producing hit singles.

“They will soon release a compilation album that comprises singles released in previous years.
