THE removal of vendors in the streets was a good idea. Municipal police should now maintain the order and let vendors operate at designated places. — Tawanda Mhlanga Dangamvura

Council should be strict with its by-laws, the Sakubva rank has been turned into a garage by some bus operators. They are servicing their buses at the rank and used oil, which is drained from the buses, is spewed all over the tarmac. Papers with oil filters are scatted everywhere. There is an operator who is even piling some used tyres at the rank. Repairing of buses should be done at designated garages. — Worried Observer

It was a shame that the so called party of excellence members had to resort to violence and many were left nursing serious injures. Imagine if they had State power at their disposal. Police should relent on arresting all the thugs. — TM, Dangamvura *****

I observed that these powerful public address (PA) systems frustrate bees in their hives. Recently, a church mounted a PA system under a tree that had a bee hive and next morning all the bees were gone and never came back. People should learn to play music in such a way that does not disturb their neighbours. It is irritating to have a neighbour who plays music at high volume. — Richard Mahuhushe Chauke

Law has no compromises to those who break it, but recently we had corrupt police officers being warned to stop their illicit shenanigans when the best option would have been to arrest and jail them. — Patriot

Sitting councillors and MPs who lost in the primary elections in their respective areas should not instigate unnecessary tensions and violence. Is it for the lack of jobs that they refuse to accept defeat? Why should one weep to be a servant of the people when the same have elected a different person to lead them? Count your losses without instigating a bhora musango against your political parties. These are cowards and material opportunists, not genuine leaders. True cadres remain guided by their political parties’ principles not emotions. You cannot always everything your way. — Richard Mahuhushe Chauke *****

When multi-parties in a country are endorsed as a sign of democracy regardless of the obtaining confrontational politics that strangle the economy, the you begin to wonder how far headless chickens can run. — RCM, Mutare

The contestation for power through elections is designed to bring order in society not chaos. The primary elections recently conducted by the main political parties have failed this test and ended up causing more harm than good to society. Politics is not cheating, violence or lying. It is high time our politicians become civilised, ethical and principled and be intrinsically motivated by the desire to create a robust and productive economy. — Patriot *****

The removal of vendors in the CBD was a good initiative and the onus is now on vendors themselves and the municipal police to ensure they operate from allocated places. — David Moyo, Chikanga

Hats off to Reverend Mupaya D of the United Methodist Church (Inner City), Rusape for his contemporaneous prayer visits to hospitals, prison and homes to heal souls. God bless you. — Mufumha Fannuel, Rusape *****

Thanks to the city council for removing vendors from the CBD. The town is now clean and orderly. — Liberty Mahoso *****

People should be wary of Ecocash fraudsters. Please verify the transactions and contacts before authorising any purchases. Avoid giving your pin numbers to friends and relatives as some have lost lots of money.— 0782 131 769.

The increase in the number of murder cases is now a cause of concern. I think it is wise to restore the death penalty. Killers must face the full wrath of the law. They are killing people like chickens and want to get rich quickly. How can a normal person commit such a crime? Surely some people are like animals and they deserve death sentences. The law should deal severely with such barbaric characters.— Worried Citizen.

Local music promotes should not host big musicians shows on the same day. This leaves fans with headaches of which shows to attend. Imagine Jah Prayzah, Oliver Mtukudzi, Alick Macheso and Sulumani Chimbetu holding shows on the same day and almost the same time. Promoters must also support upcoming musicians. Musicians should also honour contracts and be professional. — Music

Fan, Mutare.

Truck drivers have to desist from hiring young girls as sexual partners. These young girls have a whole future ahead of them. There are only after short-term gains, money to buy the latest phone in town, fashion and spot the latest hair style. Our efforts to protect these girls will be in vain if men continue showering them with loads of money. Let us teach them to get a good education, get a job and enjoy their hard earned money. Sex work is just too much for the young girl. — 0777 696 915.
