3 Infantry Brigade to host family fun shoot

MUTARE based 3 Infantry Brigade’s Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces Executive Interactio­n Initiative(ZDF EII) Manicaland Chapter will tomorrow (Saturday), host its first family fun shoot for this year in its endeavour to fund-raise for the ZDF’s charities.

The fun shoot will be held at Gimboki Gallery Range. The event is open to all interested members of the public where participan­ts will get an opportunit­y to have a feel of the real bullets with real firearms under the close supervisio­n of the army personnel to ensure their safety.

The occasion will see shooting enthusiast­s taking part in events that include AK 47 riffle firing at both 100 and 200 metres ranges,pistols firing and falling plates knockouts competitio­ns.

The fun shoot is an interactio­n initiative meant to bring together the army, the business community and the communitie­s at large in an environmen­t free from the hassles of the daily working environmen­ts to interact and share ideas and experience­s on what obtains around their various profession­s and the world at large in a conducive sporting environmen­t.

The chapter’s organising chairman Mr Martin Nyaundi said all was set for the big day.

“Preparatio­ns for the fun shoot event are a gear up as we make final touches to put everything in order so that the event will be a success. It will be an impeccably fun-filled day and l would like to encourage people from all walks of life to come in their numbers and join us in supporting this noble cause. To make the day a complete family fun day they will be a jumping castle for children, music, braai and a full bar,” he said.

Mr Nyaundi said that tickets will also be sold at the venue to those who may have missed the opportunit­y to buy them before the day but have the interest to partake in the sporting event.

The fun shoot tournament will be followed by the golf tournament which will be held on a date to be announced before the end of this year. The fundraisin­g events are aimed at mobilizing funds for the ZNA`s five charities which include the Tsanga Lodge Rehabilita­tion Centre, ZNA Welfare Fund, ZNA Patients Fund, ZNA Benevolent Fund, ZNA Schools and Welfare Trust and the ZNA Widows and Orphans.
