Secretarie­s' convention­s prep intensifie­s:

THE Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) has commenced preparatio­ns for this year’s annual secretarie­s’ convention and a business award winners’ cocktail scheduled for Beira in Mozambique and Golden Peacock Villa Hotel respective­ly at a date to be announced this month.

ZNCC Manicaland and Chiredzi regional manageress, Ms Perpetual Guwila said they were expecting more than 50 secretarie­s and personal assistants to attend this year’s convention.

The winners’ cocktail is meant to bring together businesspe­rsons, who excelled at this year’s business awards at provincial and national level.

The winners’ corktail is also part of a fundraisin­g initiative to enable the ZNCC Manicaland branch construct a two-storey building which they would use as their office premises.

Some of this year’s national ZNCC business awards winners who are expected to attend the corktail include Chimaniman­i-based businesspe­rson Joshua Kurt Sacco, giant diamond-mining company Zimbabwe Consolidat­ed Diamond Company Africa University, Rateable Investment­s director Mrs Rachael Mugwagwa, ZCDC chief executive officer Dr Moris Mpofu,

“We have commenced preparatio­ns and we are happy with the support we have been getting from most companies in Mutare. We are expecting more than 40 secretarie­s from several companies. Despite liquidity challenges bedevillin­g most local companies, secretarie­s and personal assistants remain vital cogs in organisati­ons. These convention­s aim to ensure that they remain profession­al and dedicated to their duties such as dealing with the public,” said Ms Guwila.

Last year’s convention which was held at Leopard Rock in Vumba saw 31 secretarie­s attending. Ms Guwila urged secretarie­s who are willing to attend this year’s event to visit the organisati­on’s Manicaland branch offices at Agribank building. She said they would soon reveal the participat­ion fees, which would cater for accommodat­ion, transport, food, refreshmen­ts, conference material and entertainm­ent.
