Secretaries' conventions prep intensifies:
THE Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) has commenced preparations for this year’s annual secretaries’ convention and a business award winners’ cocktail scheduled for Beira in Mozambique and Golden Peacock Villa Hotel respectively at a date to be announced this month.
ZNCC Manicaland and Chiredzi regional manageress, Ms Perpetual Guwila said they were expecting more than 50 secretaries and personal assistants to attend this year’s convention.
The winners’ cocktail is meant to bring together businesspersons, who excelled at this year’s business awards at provincial and national level.
The winners’ corktail is also part of a fundraising initiative to enable the ZNCC Manicaland branch construct a two-storey building which they would use as their office premises.
Some of this year’s national ZNCC business awards winners who are expected to attend the corktail include Chimanimani-based businessperson Joshua Kurt Sacco, giant diamond-mining company Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company Africa University, Rateable Investments director Mrs Rachael Mugwagwa, ZCDC chief executive officer Dr Moris Mpofu,
“We have commenced preparations and we are happy with the support we have been getting from most companies in Mutare. We are expecting more than 40 secretaries from several companies. Despite liquidity challenges bedevilling most local companies, secretaries and personal assistants remain vital cogs in organisations. These conventions aim to ensure that they remain professional and dedicated to their duties such as dealing with the public,” said Ms Guwila.
Last year’s convention which was held at Leopard Rock in Vumba saw 31 secretaries attending. Ms Guwila urged secretaries who are willing to attend this year’s event to visit the organisation’s Manicaland branch offices at Agribank building. She said they would soon reveal the participation fees, which would cater for accommodation, transport, food, refreshments, conference material and entertainment.
