RUSAPE Town Council was last week conferred the 2018 LOGIC 2018 Best water supply town award after beating 14 towns and local boards, but surprisingly taps in the town have been dry over the past weeks. To make matters worse, the local authority is charging us $3 per container (to fetch water) at its water works. In these times of cholera, residents and schools cannot do without the precious liquid on their taps — Mabvazuva.

The slow pace of clearing goods at Forbes Border Post near Mutare is continuing unabated, and may the responsible authorities look into this with a view to take corrective action. This frustrating problem has been going on for too long — Majazi.

I am a teacher in Manicaland. I was born and educated here, but from 2014 something sinister has been taking place in the education sector. All provinces have had their graduate teachers promoted, but one wonders why this has not been the case in Manicaland province. The province is as a result losing seasoned teachers to those provinces that easily elevate them because one cannot continue serving in a province where their education is not valued and prospects of promotion are not in sight. What could be the problem — Concerned

Teacher.

Through your widely read and informative broadsheet, may you enquire on our behalf and inform the nation as to why better educated teacher are not being promoted in Manicaland. Could it be a case of someone sleeping on duty at CABS Centre? To make matters worse, when we apply to other provinces our application letters are being withheld at the provincial HQ. We are the gem of the nation in terms of educational standards, but something is certainly wrong within the system in Manicaland. The lead story in the previous edition of The Manica Post gave a really sad reading. I was left wondering and scratching for answers as to what has gotten into the mind men going around raping their own daughters. What has our society become — Worried Patriot.

**** Zimbabwe is indeed open for business. To President ED I say keep up the good work. We appreciate that you are doing your best to make Zimbabwe a better economy. I am sure your efforts will never go in vain. To my fellow countrymen, let us be patient, the economy will be stable very soon. Let us continue to pray for our country — Truth Hurts.

I am proud about the way the Warriors have been performing lately. We are perched at the top of log — Lovemore Kashawo.

Thank you ZERA, punish all the culprits. I wonder why they are doing this, they are just selfish. They want to make super profits by ripping off the suffering masses. Things should not be allowed to work this way in the country. This corruption should not be tolerated. We commend you for standing by the people — Chipo.

For a start, the vaccination of 1.4 million people in cholera-prone hotspots of Harare such as Epworth and Chitungwiza was really necessary. While our Ministers led by His Excellency President Mnangagwa were also vaccinated and led the way in the fight against this deadly waterborne disease, it is necessary that the Government and the ministry of Health consider “vaccination for all” in the long-term — F. Zonke, Zimbabwean.

**** Increasing the vaccination coverage for deadly diseases like cholera is a national goal in countries like Brazil where the Health Ministry put in place plans and a campaign to vaccinate the entire Brazilian population against yellow fever by 2019 — FZ.

China did likewise by proposing to vaccinate 100 percent of children between six and nine months of age against measles. Harare can copy from both Rio de Janeiro and Beijing — Felix Zonke

In Zimbabwe, like other African countries, locals complain and fail to see the bigger picture and opportunities, leaving outsiders to team up with other Zimbabweans legally and making lots of cash. We need to get out of our poverty mentality as black people and benefit from our resources — Haru.

China is as great and as monstrous as it is today because it had its set of scruples that instructed her to grow and develop at her own pace and scoffed at external pressures that sought to design political and economic parameters on her behalf. Whatever treasure we have must not be subject to parading to the hyenas that are only too happy to descend on us using the silliest of excuses like they did to Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and others. — Ishe Kamba Makoni.
