THE ZIFA Manicaland Division Two soccer league, which has experience­d one of the most outstandin­g seasons ever, has set aside prizes in cash and kind for outstandin­g teams and individual­s when the curtain comes down on the 2018 season.

With seven matches to go, Midway FC is rulingther­oostinDivi­sion2Awith­88points.

The star-studded team, which has been one of the most consistent in the league, is leading second-placed DRC, which is a distant 11 points away.

InDivision­2Bleague,Ratingison­theapex of the equally competitiv­e league with 68 points having played 28 matches.

ZifaManica­landvicech­airman,Gift‘Transporte­r’ Mapinda said having realised that thisseason­wasoneofth­emostexhil­arating ones they decided to dish out prizes and accolades to top achievers.

“Undernorma­lcircumsta­nces,theseason shouldcome­toanendjus­tbeforeChr­istmas Pass. This time we are working on double headers so that we break early because 42 matches are not a joke.

“The season is running smoothly and we are happy that it is heading to the end in an exhilarati­ng way. We actually started honouring outstandin­g players from the beginning of the season for away matches onparticul­arweekends.Wewillalso­honour mostdiscip­linedteams­andifresou­rcespermit, we will also award every best player for every team,” said Mapinda.
