I was very pleased to hear Minister Gwaradzimba articulating Government’s vision in growing Manicaland’s economy. In an article titled ‘Manicaland’s economy on the rebound, she took her time to explain the avenues being explored in every district. Forwards ever, backwards never — Maokomavi, Mutasa.

The door to door distribution of roller meal is a model that can be adopted across the whole country to eradicate queues and promote physical distancing so as to stop the spread of coronavirus — James Kunesu, Rusape. ***

Editor, I am very disappointed by the Mutare City Council. Why are they exposing their parking marshals by making them report for work and interact with motorists during the lockdown? Are the city fathers that hungry for revenue? Are parking services an essential service? — Disgruntled driver.

I read the story titled ‘Man caught with 1.5tonnes of roller meal’ with shock. The most burning question is how did he access the roller meal?

While the law has caught with him and he has been fined, what happens to all the people behind this scheme?

Clearly this is a syndicate and punishing one person will not solve much. — Paida Chimuti, Hobhouse. ***

Mukanya on “Illegal vending structures demolished in Chitungwiza”

Good move at Sakubva market.

I was avoiding to drive through the place going to my lodgings. ***

Pardy on “Lockdown extension welcome”— What control measures do industry and employers propose to implement?

***

More sectors need to reopen under strict controls. That is the general thinking of many as Government is only assisting a portion of the population. This extension will have more casualties to the economy and in terms of those requiring support from the State. — Eliah.

Stand firm in difficult times

What makes us stand firm in the fight against Covid19 is to understand the purpose of what we are doing. We are in lockdown, understand that this is meant to reduce the spread of the virus. Stand firm in championing measures that stop the spread of the virus, stand firm in making sure you get tested when you have the symptoms, stand firm by making the most or your time and being productive during lock down, strengthen relationships and keep watching on each other.
