Jaure optimistic of getting another dance

THE light is beginning to shine again for former Manica Diamonds skipper, Partson ‘Yellow’ Jaure, who is recovering from home after surviving a horrific accident on March 22.

Jaure told Post Sport that by the time the season starts, he will be fit and ready to play.

The soccer star was driving his Toyota Runx after a night out with friends when his car veered off the road and crashed into a tree near Prince Edward High School in Harare last month.

He sustained head injuries during the road accident and had to undergo an operation to mend a skull fracture.

The Warriors and Dynamos defender was discharged from hospital last month after spending three weeks at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

“I am now fit to play. I am looking forward to playing when the season starts. I thank God for surviving. It was very horrible but I am alive. I am raring to go and I do not have any limitations,” he said.

Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ) mobilised fans to raise the US$5 000 that enabled the DeMbare skipper to undergo the critical operation.

Jaure said he is grateful for the love shown towards him through the financial contributions.

“I want to thank everyone for the support they have shown me. I want to thank my club, national team, FUZ, fans and individuals who stood by me. I am forever grateful,” he said.

Upon his arrival from Manica Diamonds, Jaure was named Dembare’s captain, taking over from Edward Sadomba who hung his boots last year.

He is also captain of the locally based Warriors squad that qualified for the African Nations Championships (CHAN).
