Hard times for men of God
YOURS Truly is a God fearing person, whose mission to preserve the little that remains of our moral fabric dovetails into the word of our Lord Jesus Christ. Can I get an amen?
Most preachers of the word of God have suddenly found themselves in hard times since the inception of the Covid-19 lockdown.
Blabber certainly does not celebrate the suffering of men of God. No! Be that as it may, Yours Truly has a duty to tell it like it is, without fear or favour.
Without the usual Sunday offerings, pastors and prophets who largely depended on congregants have suddenly found themselves in a fix.
ln addition, the general bankruptcy in our communities is not making the situation any better for the men of God.
This is why this other prophet is now selling small quantities of fuel in Mutare’s Central Business District. I mean that other young, flabby self proclaimed prophet whose name is reminiscent of a city in this country. The young man was a beneficiary of offerings from believers and now that the lockdown has seen dwindling cash inflows in the church, the boy had to learn to work. After all, there is no free lunch! Word reaching Yours Truly is that the communication skills he once used in enticing believers is now being used to lure for liquid.
Blabber is happy that the young man has finally learnt how to work for his next meal, not just to wait for other people to work for him. Yours Truly is anxiously waiting to see whether he has also learnt a thing or two about how to spend money responsibly.
We all know how he used to entice underage girls by splashing cash he would have been given by congregants.
Who doesn’t know about the nudes that once leaked as the so-called prophet enjoyed money from believers.
Blabber can only hope that now that he knows how hard one has to work to get money, he will duly spend it wisely.
The same goes for all other men of God who want to live luxurious lives, much more luxurious than the people who give them the money. Pano pangwa mwana wamambo, nherera teererawo (when other people are being advised, you should also listen), our elders used to say!
By the way, where is this other pint-sized prophet who fell on hard times well before the start of the lockdown?
I mean the one who was finally evicted from the house he had paid a paltry amount for and failed to settle the balance.
Blabber can only imagine what he is up to given the difficult times that his colleagues are going through.
Like I said from the onset, Blabber does not enjoy the suffering of the so-called men of God, but as an elder in our community, Yours Truly genuinely wants them to learn to work for their food.
