31 July was a roadmap to nowhere

ZIMBABWEAN politicians need to understand that Zimbabwean politics does not revolve around social media. Many people who were fooled by their huge followership on Twitter, only to realise during elections that social media followers do not translate to voters.

Twitter handles are not people, they will not hit our streets for any demonstration as they reside online. — Cde Muchineripi Zano. **** Let’s mask up please

The increase in the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths in the province is worrisome. We cannot just continue watching the numbers going up and go on with our lives as if nothing is happening. At a personal level, everyone needs to play their part. Avoid those crowded places and when you do venture into public places, practice physical distancing, wear your mask and sanitise your hands. — Muzvare Hazvinei. **** Don’t expose children unnecessarily

Editor, I was shocked to learn that some greedy teachers are turning their houses into schools in the midst of the highly contagious Covid-19 pandemic. What I fail to understand is why are the parents sending their children to those ‘schools’, do they not see the risk of doing so? There is no need to panic over children in examination classes. The Government is aware of their plight and when schools open they will be given enough time to learn before sitting for exams. — Concerned Teacher. **** Everything is now in order at the Ministry of Health and Child Care. I actually wish I was a doctor or nurse. This is a very good appointment, show them how it’s done Cde Chiwenga. — Gwinyai Shoko. **** Let’s flatten the curve by staying at home and mask up. — @RomeoRupazo. ****

Its great news that the City of Mutare has received a consignment of water pipes for the Dangamvura project. We pray to get water soon from our taps. Liking the progress. — @Joyleen Mhonyera. ****

Good news for us in Dangamvura. — @Allen Gwenzi. ****

But why is the City of Mutare importing the water pipes, why not promote local industries? — @ Sam Mutasa. ****

We should stimulate local industry by procuring locally. We could reinvest some of our tax in the local industries. We need to start buying locally. — Sekai Kuvarika.
