LETTERS Go beyond breast cancer month
As the annual international breast cancer awareness campaign gathers momentum this October, we have seen many organisations stepping up to offer breast cancer screening. This is commendable as it encourages people to get tested and detect any cases early. Considering the fact that breast cancer ranks second as a cause of cancer death in women, perhaps players in the health sector need to consider stepping up this campaign and conduct it beyond October. The more we talk about it the more we will beat breast cancer. — Dorothy Zimoyo
Chimanimani, Chipinge reconstruction impressive
When Cyclone Idai hit Chimanimani and Chipinge last year and left a trail of destruction in the districts, everything looked so gloomy; with large boulders strewn around where houses, schools and bridges had been. It was with great pleasure that l learnt through your esteemed paper last week about the world class infrastructure that is being constructed in the two districts. Government and its development partners must be applauded for the job well done. — Tino02
Deal with culture of unlawful industrial actions
For long, the health and education sectors have been struggling due to civil servants who either choose to stay at home or drag their feet at work. This is a disturbing and counterproductive culture that must be dealt away with. Government is clearly seized with the welfare of its employees and therefore all workers should exert their full efforts in delivering at work. Good things come to those who work. — Merit, Buhera
