Is this a State House in the ghetto?

-

WHAT is this that we hear about heavily armed personnel guarding a mere residential property in our beloved city’s oldest high-density suburb?

Never before in our lifetime have we heard of heavily armed security personnel guarding a simple residential property in any of our high-density suburbs.

There is really nothing wrong in protecting our properties, but there is everything wrong about heavily armed men harassing and assaulting innocent pedestrians, including women and children, passing by a street in the ghetto, simply because someone feels he has too much money under his pillow in the bedroom.

But Blabber is informed that there is a businessman who has now created his own version of a State House that is being heavily and ruthlessly protected especially at night.

In fact, just after the light of the sun disappears, the place suddenly becomes a no go area with innocent passersby being harassed or even assaulted.

Yours Truly does not condone robberies or thefts, but in the same measure, Blabber does not tolerate the unnecessary violation of people’s rights to free movement especially in pot hole infested high-density suburb roads where even our kids are sent on errands to borrow salt from neighbours countless times.

This is the reason why Blabber is perturbed by news that residents in this suburb are being victimised for simply passing through the road.

Just as his business trade name suggests, it appears this guy is now biting bigger than he can chew.

For the record, Blabber has so much respect for this businessman, given his hard work and all that he amassed in his lifetime, but Yours Truly is duty bound to be a voice for the voiceless.

Yours Truly is not driven by malice, hence the simple advice that with all the money that he has amassed, it is time he leaves the ghetto and get a property in the leafy suburbs where movement especially at night is minimal.

After all, what business do the rich have in our midst?

Cde, give us a break please!

It can only be fair for Blabber to sign off by reminding all and sundry of the need to stay at home as much as possible because of this new strain of the pandemic. This is only for our own good and survival. Those who can work from home like Yours Truly, please do so.

After all, work is not always the place, but what you do, hence do it from home if you can!
