Manica Post hosts Provincial Business Indaba
THE Manica Post will next week on Friday host a provincial business indaba, the first of its kind, which will bring together captains of industry to exchange notes on the business opportunities that the province has to offer.
The indaba, which will run under the theme ‘Roadmap to Growing Manicaland’s Economy’, seeks to foster collaboration and innovation in business.
The theme speaks on the need for collective action and strategic planning to harness Manicaland’s potential.
Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, will be the guest of honour.
A panel of distinguished business leaders will steer the conversation on how each sector can contribute to the growth of our provincial economy and ultimately the country’s economy.
Among the panellists are Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries Manicaland Chapter president, Mr Bernard Makoni; Real estate Mogul, Ms Sue Peters; Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe Manicaland president, Mr Adonis Mutigwe; Manicaland regional representative for the Zimbabwe Miners Association, Mrs Judith Shadaya and Manicaland deputy director for Agricultural Advisory and Rural Development Services in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Mr Nomatter Manunure.
In an interview, one of the organisers, The Manica Post Editor, Mrs Wendy Nyakurerwa-Matinde said the indaba will focus on various aspects of enhancing the province’s economic development.
“The event will bring together stakeholders from different sectors to share notes on business opportunities. We are looking at investment opportunities in the tourism, mining, real estate as well agriculture sectors.
“Executives can also take advantage of the platform to highlight to the relevant authorities their thoughts on how those sectors can be assisted to grow even further,” she said.
“The idea is to bring all the various sectors under one roof so that everyone is on the same page as we discuss how each and every sector can contribute towards growing the province’s GDP.
“According to the country’s GDP figures, the province is not doing as much as it is expected to in line with its natural resources. We need to have more conversations on that and help grow the economy,” she said.
Tickets for the event are going for $50 and can be purchased at The Manica Post Building.
Packages are available for corporates.
