18 YEARS and still counting!

THE story of the Adventist laymen and services and Industries (ASI) Mutare Chapter is a breathtaking and inspiring one.

Launched in September 2005, the organisation has stood the test of time.

Founded with the mission of: “Sharing Christ on the Marketplace”, ASI is an auxiliary organ of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Worldwide membership is open to Seventh Day Adventist professional and business people, big and small.

Members are trained on business ethics, networking, acumen and growth, while professionals are mentored not to rely on a single stream of income.

ASI members then contribute resources to impact communities through charity work, spreading the gospel truth and penetrating marginalised communities.

Not only that, through its social responsibility department, ASI Mutare Chapter has become family to many as members participate in weddings, funerals, paying hospital visits and many more.

The organisation has also transformed lives of many.

ASI has shown Christ’s benevolence to special needs communities like prisons, orphanages, old people’s homes, as well as churches under construction which received generous assistance.

On the evangelism front, ASI Mutare Chapter has spearheaded the Seventh Day Adventist mission of spreading the gospel to all over the world.

Areas like Himalaya, Map-off and the Manica Province in Mozambique have been reached out in spreading the gospel and new churches have been established to nurture the infant churches.

ASI Mutare Chapter partnered with the Diamond FM to run a weekly Bible programme, The Bible Speaks.

“We are now in the sixth year of uninterrupted broadcasting of the gospel truth. Topics such as true baptism, state of the dead, correct day of worship, the law, food for Christians, Holy

Spirit and tongues, false prophets, the second coming of Jesus Christ and judgement have been hammered as the Bible speaks for itself.

Through this programme, many souls have been saved from satan’s deception,” said ASI Mutare Chapter president, Mrs Tafadzwa Marange.

She added: “The Bible Speaks programme has had great impact in the eastern side of Zimbabwe and internationally where listeners follow online. There is great demand for more slots and our prayer is for more resources so that we can have achieve this goal.”

To enhance business acumenship, Business Expos are held regularly where Adventists in business showcase their companies.

To recognise and celebrate this beautiful success story of ASI Mutare Chapter, the organisation will be hosting a three-day 18th Anniversary

Convention in Vumba, running from November 2 to 5.

Renowned guest speakers have been lined up to energise delegates for mission, work harder and share ideas on how to make more money while contributing to the country’s economic growth.

The speakers include Pastor Jimmy Chinuo from Harare, Mr Wonesai Sithole from South Africa, Mr Luxon Zembe from Harare and Dr Eric Mandeya of the renowned National Propshaft Centre.

Late registrations are still being taken through the secretary, Mrs Faina Ndakavambaani, on 0772306978 and treasurer, Mr Benjamin Chikuruwo on 0772893470.

“Members and visitors alike are invited to come, celebrate, learn and be equipped for service,” said Mrs Marange.
