Loaded entertainm­ent fiesta this weekend

Montclair Hotel and Casino Dendera musician, Suluman Chimbetu will perform at this year’s Nyanga Arts Festival’s closing ceremony tomorrow (Saturday). Backed by the Orchestra Dendera Kings, the singer will perform in the main auditorium from 8pm till the last man drops. More than 20 artistes drawn from across the country are also expected to perform at the three-day event. They include the legendary Bulawayo outfit, Black Umfolosi, Sarungano, Expression­s Band, Tadiwanash­e Mafemera, Nigel Musa and an array of local traditiona­l groups.

This month’s Rozvi braai party scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) is headlined by legendary rhumba king, Jack Mapanga, as well as dancer and singer, Lady Storm. The combinatio­n which has become one of the much sought-after groups in the country’s rhumba fraternity will perform at the gazebo for the first time. Villa Spot

Celebrated Harare-based DJs, Templeman and Selector Tanaman will take their performanc­es to the sprawling suburb of Dangamvura on Sunday. The formidable duo will be part of the Super Sunday Volume 1 entertainm­ent fiesta. They will be supported by resident DJs Famous, Brizz, Quick and Zincyard. The event starts at 12 noon till the last man drops.

Coming from a successful tour of Harare where they were main performers at the Bob Nyabinde fundraisin­g gig last weekend, Ragga Manyika outfit, Assegai Crew, will be back at their favourite fortress situated at Boka Business Centre in Dangamvura on Sunday.

DJs Fraiser, Snaxx and Terminator take turns to entertain patrons at the upmarket joint from tonight till Sunday. DJs Fraiser and Snaxx will light up the bar with a variety of new school music, while DJ Terminator will set the roof on fire with some old school music. Afro-jazz sensation, WaCharie, will headline the Sunday jazz night.
