GBV cases worrisome
Statistics that show that two women are sexually abused in Manicaland makes sad reading. This just goes to show the amount of Gender-Based Violence many communities in the province are grappling with. As we commemorate the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, we have to amplify voices that denounce this scourge. It also calls for more concerted efforts in raising awareness with multiple stakeholders being involved in the fight. —
Gogo Zisenge an inspiration
It was so inspirational to read that 92-year-old Gogo Zisengwe took part in and completed the NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon 5km Fun Run. Her accomplishment is worthy emulating and it also shows how important health and wellbeing through regular exercising is an important part of lifestyle. —
Let’s start back to school preps
I am urging fellow parents and guardians to start carrying out the back to school preparations now in order to avoid the rush that comes with this when schools are almost opening. Spreading the preparations over the duration of the school holiday will help in reducing the strain on our budgets. Let us do the back to school errands in time. —
Save Beach Bash organisers deserve credit
Organisers of the Save Beach Bash deserve credit for the way they packaged the event to make it attractive and interesting. This was a fascinating way of showcasing what the host area can also offer besides the iconic Birchenough Bridge, that has the potential to attract tourists. Indeed, it proves that Manicaland has several places that are valuable tourism products. More of such events in different districts can drive the province to prominence on the national tourism map. —
