Intensify anti-drugs campaigns

The ongoing anti-drugs campaigns by the police and other arms of Government must be intensified. The scourge is having serious impact on communities and the detrimental effects of substance abuse on personal health are profound. Other stakeholders like churches, traditional leaders, schools and corporates must join the fight to eradicate the peddling and use of illegal drugs. Attainment of an empowered and prosperous upper middle income society requires a drug-free generation that can take up leadership positions in the future. —

All the best for Gem Boys, GreenFuel

I would like to extend my congratulations to Manica Diamonds and GreenFuel for remaining in the Premiership. For the Gem Boys, finishing second in the campaign was a milestone, given that they played all their home games in Triangle. It also marked an improvement after finishing third last season. Avoiding relegation in their maiden season was also a great achievement for the Ethanol Boys as they were debuting in the top-flight league. Overall, this is good for the game of football in Manicaland. Going into the 2024 campaign, we hope that Manica Diamonds will challenge for the championship, while GreenFuel will fight to finish in the upper spots of the log standings. All the best to the two teams. — **********

Let’s pay school fees early

As schools open next week, our hope is that they comply with Government directives not to hike fees without approval and consultations with the parents first. As parents, we must also be responsible enough to have paid all the fees in full before lessons start. —

********** Deal severely with offenders I think people who commit serious crimes such as murder, rape and armed robberies should be good candidates for the death penalty after considering the severity of their offences. —

Profiling tourists attractions the way to go Thank you very much The Manica Post for profiling potential tourist attractions dotted across Manicaland. This puts us on the national tourism map and even beyond as the province boasts unparalleled beauty and fascinating places in Nyanga, Chipinge, Vumba, Chimanimani and Buhera among others. With such interesting sights, coupled with the exceptional hospitality of its people, Manicaland should be considered as the country’s tourism capital. —
