They are dying one by one
FOR the umpteenth time, Yours Truly will reiterate that he does not celebrate anyone’s demise or misfortune, but such is the nature of this job that, one way or the other, some of those uncomfortable truths have to be said.
To be precise, by an ‘uncomfortable truth’, I mean a fact or a private desire which is not craved by whoever else is involved.
In doing so, some folks will feel offended. Some folks, especially those involved, will hate Blabber for that.
But Blabber draws comfort from the fact that, in equal measure, some folks, especially those not involved, will love Yours Truly for that.
In this regard, Blabber will speak about our boys on the death row.
I am not speaking about Death Row Records, the American independent record label that was founded in 1991 by Dr Dre, Suge Knight, and Dick Griffey with the late Tupac as one of its prodigies.
This is real death row, which is also known as condemned row — a place in a prison that houses inmates awaiting execution after being convicted of a capital crime and sentenced.
This is just the same place that our dear “monyas” find themselves in. They are dying one by one for assaulting innocent people in our public spaces.
Word reaching Yours Truly is that a wellknown monya died recently after physically manhandling an innocent imbiber at a local watering hole. The fracas occurred at this other popular night spot in the second phase of that other ghetto whose name has something to do with a yesteryear traditional leader.
The victim actually told him that he won’t last until Christmas Day.
Indeed, his words came to pass.
Our dear monya died when he was in the process of trying to reach out and apologise to the victim.
He is not the first one to die this way, and Blabber thinks neither is he going to be the last!
We had one of our own, a likeable socialite at times, but his weakness was using, rather abusing the God-given muscles to assault innocent people, especially after getting paid to do so.
Indeed, this brother of ours died under mysterious circumstances, only after assaulting someone who told him instantly that he is the last person he had assaulted.
For a long time, we have had this problem in our city and it appears nature is finding a way of solving this challenge for us.
While Blabber does not celebrate death at all, Yours Truly is happy that, if ever assaulted, Blabber now knows the way to the instant solution provider.
Do not hesitate to get in touch with Blabber when your rights have been infringed by these social misfits who spent time pushing weights while others are making money in town.
We do not wish death upon them, but we also do not wish to have pain inflicted upon us for no apparent reason.

IN a tragic incident that happened in Chimanimani on New Year’s eve, a 17-year-old teenager committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree branch after he was disciplined by his mother for stealing US$14.
Tatenda Nyamunda’s body was found hanging from a tree branch a few kilometres from their homestead after he had gone missing.
Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed the incident which happened in Chanyamwaka Village in Chief Muusha’s area.
Tatenda was disciplined by his mother, Ms Lucia Mhlanga using a switch all over the body, accusing him of stealing US$14 which she had placed on the table in her bedroom.
Tatenda disappeared from the homestead and Ms Mhlanga alerted other villagers.
On December 31, at around 6am, a female juvenile aged eight of the same village found Tatenda’s body hanging from a tree branch.
She informed Ms Mhlanga who made a police report.
No visible injuries were observed and post-mortem was waived.
In an unrelated incident, an altercation between a Buhera couple over infidelity ended tragically after a 32-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself.
The deceased, Darlington Mubaiwa, had a misunderstanding with his wife, Nyaradzo Nerwande over infidelity issues on Boxing Day.
He left Nerwande at her workplace in Murambinda and headed home. Nerwande returned home and upon arrival, she entered into the house and saw the deceased’s body hanging on a roof truss.
She reported the matter to the police.
No foul play is suspected in both incidents.
“We would like to urge members of the public to solve disputes amicably and maturely, than resorting to taking their lives.
“People should also engage the elderly in the community as well as police’s community relations and liaison offices for sound advice to amicably solve issues, than resorting to suicide,” said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.
