Embrace cholera vaccination

-

Government and its partners this week launched a massive oral cholera vaccination programme that is targeting 2.3 million people for a single dose, with Manicaland included. This is a welcome development and we must all go out in our numbers to receive the vaccination and prevent the disease from spreading in our communities. — Maria Denhere

Tap into lucrative export market

Fruits, vegetables and herbs are in high demand in local and international markets. By diversifying the agricultural activities to include horticulture, farmers can tap into these lucrative markets and improve their income and livelihoods. — Tendai Chipfeko ********** No to maternal mortality The circumstances under which the pregnant woman from Mafararikwa in Marange lost her life are both sad and deplorable. Two people died in a situation that could have been avoided. Religious beliefs must not be a hindrance to accessing medical attention. Government is working hard to reduce cases of maternal mortality and gains made so far must not be reversed. — Pastor David **********

of MutareMachipanda railway welcome

The fraternal relations between Zimbabwe and Mozambique which date back to the days of the liberation struggle are deepening as the two countries strengthen their trade ties. This is reflected in the upgrading of the Forbes and Machipanda Border Posts and having the entry point operate round the clock. With the establishment of a railway line as an alternative mode of transporting goods, business is also set to increase. This integration between states is not only good for the Southern Africa bloc, but the entire African continent as well. – The Economist
