Let’s not drop guard against cholera

- – Rudolf Sithole

As cholera cases decline in Manicaland, thanks to Government’s efficient and effective intervention measures, we must not drop guard in preventing the spread of the disease. Let us maintain high standards of hygiene at all times in our homes, schools, workplaces and other public places. Mobilising local communities to participate in clean-up exercises of our surroundings also goes a long way in avoiding cholera outbreaks because prevention is always better that cure. Kudos to Manicaland luminaries

It is always nice to have sons and daughters from our province shining and being outstanding in different spheres or sectors of the endeavours. For them to get recognition and awards in their respective areas of influence shows that they are doing some things right that are positively impacting on other people’s lives. Cases in point are those of Mr Dave Munowenyu who was named among the Top 100 Influential Young Africans for 2024 as well as actor and social media personality, Mama Vee who scooped the outstanding social media skits award at the National Arts Merit Awards Kudos to them for putting Manicaland on the national map and be beyond through their works. Enjoying the Weekender read

Thank you very much for the interesting stories in the Weekender section of our favourite family newspaper that spotlight on the lighter issues happening in our communities across the province. Besides lighting my mood, the stories are also providing me with deeper insight into how complicated cases can be handled in our African traditional religion. – Mai Rukweza

Gem Boys showing ambition

The signing of former Warriors forward, Kuda Mahachi by Mutare-based Premiership side, Manica Diamonds is a huge statement of intent about their ambitions in the domestic league this season. As the local football faithful, our hope is that the latest acquisition will add value to the squad and make the Gem Boys more competitive. After finishing second last term, we are rallying behind the boys to go all the way and challenge for top honours; that is the league title and Chibuku Super Cup. Playing their home games at Sakubva Stadium will come as an advantage to the team.
