Gospel greats, DJ clashes excite Mutare

Mutare Hall

The entertainm­ent joint, formerly Queens Hall, hosts an array of gospel and Afro-jazz artistes who will be headlining Fred Kwashira’s album launch tomorrow (Saturday). The nine-track album is titled For Your Glory, and will be officially launched by Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Misheck Mugadza. Award-winning artiste, Blessing Shumba, Afro-jazz sensation, WaCharie, Donald Kanyuchi, Prince Jacha, Trymore Bande and Pastor Tinashe Murigo will be performing live. Adults will part with US$3, while the VIP will pay US$10. The event starts at 5pm.

Courtauld Theatre/FC Lounge

Budding gospel artiste, Cloris Machuwaire launches her new album, Handina Kudhakwa tomorrow (Saturday) where the first family of gospel music, Pastor Charles and Olivia Charamba, talented singer, Caroline Chidzikwe, the queen of Kanindo, Shantel Sithole, Vimbai Dimba, Chipo Muchegwa, Ba Troy and Hillary Kuchinani will be performing. The event starts at 12-noon and ends at 6pm.

The entertainm­ent joint will host a weekend fiesta with new-kid on the block, DJ Kiss who is already proving popular among patrons, thanks to a mix of old and new music. DJ Kiss will be backed by tried-andtested wheel spinner, DJ Smokey who will entertain revellers in the VIP section all week through. Patrons will be treated to eye-captivatin­g dances from pole dancers drawn from across the country. They will be performing in the VIP area all week from 8pm to 3am.

Brews and Barrels

The newly-opened joint situated in Florida suburb, unveils its packed entertainm­ent itinerary starting tonight with an event dubbed, Fire Friday. Seasoned DJs, Spillz and Mshez will take turns to entertain revellers during the session. The two will also superinten­d the old school session. Patrons will be treated to an assortment of music, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages sold in the main bar and executive VIP cubicle.

Chitsa Bar and Liquids

Afro-contempora­ry musician, T Boss, popularly known as Mutare Samanyanga, will perform at the venue on Sunday. Samanyanga, who now plays an acoustic guitar, is expected to thrill fans with a blend of covers songs and own compositio­ns. Versatile DJ, Silver Vee will be the club’s guest wheel spinner this weekend, while

resident DJs, Popinjo, T Muffin and Wizzy will entertain revellers from tonight (Friday) till tomorrow.

Micasa

As the English Premier League contest hots up, revellers including soccer enthusiast­s are expected to pack the venue to become part of the fun while enjoying old and new music from resident DJs, Terminator, Cape Lorel and Frazer. Selected Afrojazz band will perform live at the joint this and every Sunday.

Madziro Bar

Tried and tested DJ, Retrodon Candyman, headlines a two-day open air entertainm­ent tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday. He will entertain fun lovers, including families with some captivatin­g music from 12-noon till the last man drops. Activities such as jumping castle and face painting for kids as well as braai and pool for adults are some of the things to look forward to
