Corporates endorse Zakaria album

- By Style Reporter Zadziso Nashtv NashTV,

As the countdown to the launch of the joint album by Nicholas Zakaria and Simon Mutambi continues, a number of corporates and arts stakeholders have thrown their weight behind the duo whose dalliance started with colive performances before they decided to record together.

Mutambi, a self-confessed student and avid follower of Zakaria since his childhood days, initiated the joint album idea and with all the production work done, a number of corporates have come on board to support the project through sponsorship packages towards a successful launch and marketing campaign for the project.

Khiama Boys manager Lazarus Zakaria said they were humbled by the continued support from corporates and music stakeholders.

“We are highly encouraged by the support from various stakeholders who have come on board to partner us in launching and marketing this joint album,” Lazarus said.

“The album will be launched live at Zebra Village, Mbare, on November 1 before another online launch live on on November 13.”

A number of corporates have come on board to support the physical and virtual launch of the album and Pearl Chingwena, a representative of Esteem Communications, said they were happy with the corporate and stakeholder buy-in to the project.

“We engaged various corporate partners to support the launch and marketing of this album after attesting to its quality and potential,” Chingwena said.

“We value the partnerships between corporates and artistes for the common good and we are happy that we still have corporates that believe in giving back to their communities in one way or the other.”

Corporates and partners that have come on board to date include who will coordinate the November 13 online launch, Wezhaz Executive Cars, home and office décor company Kitchen-Link, EzeeKleen Detergents, Joem Enterprises, Bullion Group, Lonestar Construction and Engineering, ProAir, Trendzone Designer Wear, Sword Ministries led by Prophet Chifamba, Dream Team Entertainment and Chipaz Promotions, among others.

Kitchen-Link MD Richard Muchaka said they were happy to be a part of the joint album effort through contributing towards a successful launch and marketing of the album.

“As corporates, we draw a lot of creative inspiration from artistes and at Kitchen-Link we felt compelled to support this joint album which we feel will usher in the merrymaking mood this festive season,” he said.

Muchaka’s sentiments were echoed by representatives of corporate partners who all demonstrated commitment to supporting local arts in one way or another.

Zakaria has continued to command a lot of respect thanks to his drama-free life on and off the stage.

The sungura musician has mentored many musicians and recently got land to construct an arts centre in Chitungwiza as part of his longterm plans.
