Centurion stands taste of time

- BY STYLE REPORTER

The book is an intellectual odyssey into history, love, lust, crime and a trickle outlook on espionage caused by poor decision-making in life.

Narrating about the content of the book, Nkomo said the book focuses on how our choices in life lead to inevitable end and death.

“The author not only takes you on an exciting journey of storytelling, he also alludes on how our choices in life lead to our inevitable end and death,” Nkomo said.

“Stories like VillageStalker and SometimeBefore 1980 illustrate how decisions can affect multiple lives, a choice whether coming from a place of love or hate cannot escape the clutches of death if that was the destined path.

“In summary, the author is trying to show us how in the subtle everyday we literally make grave decisions and how we choose to live and think it’s not only for ourselves but for society at large.”

He described the book as an anthology of stories based on how society functions.

“The book also traces how society functions, why we are what we are, why we conform to other people’s behaviour,” he said.

“I am interested in human social behaviour therefore I realised that as humans we make decisions but those decisions may bite us back whether good or bad. The book is an anthology of life stories.”

Nkomo said the book is about poor and weak-willed decision-making.

“The decisions that we make might lead us to our own grave which is why I entitled the book, “I dug my own grave” which is a metaphoric expression necessitated in revealing that the decisions we make and our actions make us pay back,” he said.

He said he was prompted to write a book because of human behaviour.

“I am interested in human behaviour, why humans behave the way they behave and the outcomes of their behaviour. This actually prompted me to write a book because decisions we make might bite us back whether good or bad,” Nkomo said.

Nkomo said he was inspired by his grandfather to write a book because he made him realise that writing is a platform to change the social environment.

The book was published by Pentalacut Publishers.
