23 ‘A” Level students SCORE 15 Points 2 students score 20 points Student enrolls at prestigious Harvard University 99% pass rate Tinofara Tavengwa and Clara Chidawanyika THERE is nothing inevitable about Mufakose One High’s consistently excellent “A” Level results. Year in year out for the past five years the school has made it a habit, turned the habit into a culture, a living tradition to achieve spectacular results.

Each “A” Level class has a benchmark, bar set by their predecessors, a benchmark they are challenged not to match, but to raise.

What is unique, exceptional about the 2016 results is that one student, Roy Mugobi became the first “A’’ Level student to be offered a place to study at the world famous university in United States of America, Harvard University.

All over the world, Students aspire, dream of attending this revered institution.

So for Roy who attained STRAIGHT “As” in MATHEMATICS, PHYSICS and CHEMISTRY, to make it, is further proof of the highest standards the school has set.

Roy reached for the famous quote by Isaac Newton: “If l have been able to see far, it is because l stood on the shoulders of giants”

Roy- the Harvard bound Mufakose One student paid tribute to the outgoing school Head-Mr Benjamin Muridzo, the deputy HeadMrs Mutamiri for providing a learning environment that fosters academic success, Mr Maturure-the Physics teacher, Mr Dangare-the Mathematics teacher and Miss Nyamandwe for their diligence and commitment.

Marble Ncube, who attained 3 As in accounts, business studies and economics shares a most inspirational testimony.

When in lower six, she performed poorly.

However, she did not allow herself to be discouraged. Instead, she resolved to restrategise and with the mentorship of her teachers-Mr Dube, Mr Mufanebadza and Mr Gandidzanwa, Marble was able to excel. So her philosophy, her message to every student is that it is possible to achieve.

One should not live life as if they have another one in the bank. Invest wholeheartedly in opportunities that come your way.

Tinofara Tavengwa and Clara Chidawanyika-current “A” Level students declared that they are inspired by the achievements and legacy of their predecessors and have committed themselves to honour them by emulating them.
