PRESIDENT Mugabe is right to say that it is not enough to talk about having won Independence; there is need to consolidate such gains with development. I implore all Zimbabweans to play their part in the development of this nation. It is not Government alone which is responsible. We should also participate in that development effort as this is our country. — Our Zimbabwe.

*** The President does his things methodically for sure. While everyone bickers and wants this or that meeting convened, he sticks to procedure and justice. I read somewhere that this is how he wanted things done even during the liberation struggle. That’s how some who are now in the opposition hurling insults at him survived some of the struggle’s heady days. That’s what good leadership is about. — Villa.

*** This business of paying goats or kuenda kunotimba mugarden rechikoro inoshanda here? If it works, the minister should tell us where this has worked.—Q& A.

*** Now if all kids bring goats to school at the beginning of each term, would our schools still be the same? Kana kuti anamudhara vemuraini rese vakazara mumunda wechikoro zvinoita here? Schools need money; period. Other means of payment should be explored. — TK.

*** Harare City Council should raise its game this year. This is the capital city we are talking about here and yet, there appears to be no order in the central business district. There’s garbage here and there, and no one seems to care about how kombis are parked on busy streets. Vendors are selling whatever they can in front of established shops for which rentals are demanded every month. Where is the mayor and his “State of the City Address”? — Daphne.

*** Good Easter paper The Sunday Mail. There were lots of issues to read in our family paper and that gave us something to discuss as we munched on our Easter eggs. — Don John.

*** Well done DeMbare for lifting the Uhuru Cup. As usual, the match was exciting. Bosso also deserved to win, too, but that extra distance which Dynamos covered bagged it for the Glamour Boys. — DeMbare Mbare.
