‘Herentals don’t need Chunga’

down the left between Dele Alli and Kane, who flicked a pass through to Christian Eriksen at the edge of the area.

Löwe poked the ball off the Dane’s foot but when it ran across to the other side of the box, Davies arrived to lift it over the advancing keeper with a delicate finish.

With Spurs seemingly intent on punishing every error, Jonas Lössl must have feared the worst when he miskicked an attempted clearance and thus gifted the ball to Kane.

But the goalkeeper recovered sufficiently to rob the ball back before the striker was able to get off a shot.

That relief was only temporary, however. In the 23rd minute Kane struck again, brilliantly rolling past two opponents before curling a precise left-foot shot into the net from 20 yards. “He’s just a one-season wonder,” chanted the away fans with gleeful sarcasm.

Spurs were a class above anyone Huddersfield had encountered so far this season. This was the fourth away match in a row in which Mauricio Pochettino’s men have struck at least three goals and they could have increased the tally before half-time: Alli struck the post after a smooth move down the right.

Huddersfield tightened up in the second period, determined not to permit a tonking.

Spurs did not over-exert themselves after that, knowing the game was long since up for Huddersfield.

But Sissoko scored in stoppage time, anyway, bundling the ball into the net after a charge down the left by Davies. — Guardian

“As you may recall, our participation at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games raised our flag high and that served as a clear demonstration of the progressive evolution stage we are advancing towards in terms of developing Paralympic sport.

“It is also on record that the majority of medals we got from Team Zimbabwe at the African Union Sports Council Region 5 Under-20 Youth Games, held in Angola, were a result of the outstanding performance by Paralympic athletes.

“This demonstrates the potential that we have as a nation in the area of sport for people living with disabilities,” he said. NEWLY crowned Northern Region Division One side Herentals say they will retain faith in the coaches and players who won them a ticket into the big time.

Speculation has linked Moses “Bambo” Chunga with the Harare side but Herentals director Innocent Benza dismissed the claims saying he has faith in current coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva.“We have enough resources in our technical department.

Mutiwekuziva has a CAF A licence and his assistant Simba Benza has the same qualification.

Our goalkeepers’ coach Tsungie Mudzamiri is also very competent, so there is no vacancy,” said Benza.

“Chunga is always at our games and enjoys our type of play hence the speculation but we have no plans to shake up our technical team.

I don’t even think Chunga would want to join us.”Benza is also unlikely to open his cheque book come January as he believes his squad has adequate quality to stand the heat in the top flight league.

“Unfortunately, we will not acquire any new players. Let those who fought for this qualification enjoy the fruits of their sweat,” he said.

The 45-year-old Benza, who has scored two goals for Herentals this season, declared that his name will be the first on the team’s Premiership squad list.

“I want to make history and become the oldest player to play and score in the Premier Soccer League next season,” he said.“It’s not really about chasing records or trying to rewrite history.

The fact is I feel strong enough to play for a couple of seasons in the PSL.

“I have featured in all our games this season and scored two goals plus plenty of assists so why should I stop now? Just like the rest of the players I am looking forward to playing against the big boys of Zimbabwean football.”
